South African National Parks (SANParks) marine rangers from the Addo Elephant National Park apprehended four suspects last night and a further two suspects this morning for diving illegally in the Bird Island Marine Protected Area.
The only 100-Mile Trail Run in the country was hosted in Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape today and yesterday. Designed to test trail runners both mentally and physically, the trail tracks the mountains and valleys of the Park. Runners are challenged to run primarily on tracks within the park itself as well as some stretches of gravel roads.
In a collaborative effort between the Port Elizabeth College, the Mining Qualifications Authority, PPC and the Sundays River Valley Municipality (SRVM), 40 creative young people are being trained in indigenous jewellery design in the Addo Elephant National Park.
