'Mokhohlolo' - A wilderness experience in the Kruger National Park

August 2006

The mission of Honorary Rangers is to provide dynamic and practical support to the South African National Parks in achieving their mission, which is to acquire and manage a system of National Parks that represent the indigenous wildlife, landscapes and flora significant of South Africa for the pride and benefit of the Nation.

Come and join us for an exclusive 4-day behind the scenes experience in Kruger National Park as no tourist can ever experience. This is a real walk on the wild side!

The Counter Poaching Unit of Honorary Rangers have arranged two weekend excursions to Mokhohlolo wilderness area to raise funds for the protection of our wildlife heritage. The dates for the two weekends are 17 to 20 August and 24 to 27 August 2006.

Your adventure begins when you enter the Crocodile Bridge Gate where your vehicles will enjoy secure parking and you transfer to the exclusive Mokhohlolo camp in open game viewing vehicles. The all-inclusive price for accommodation in a rustic tented camp, all meals, alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, and all activities is R6 000,00 per person. We cater for a maximum of 20 guests per weekend.

Mokhohlolo is a dam in the Kruger, roughly 20 km north of Crocodile Bridge in a pristine wilderness area away from any tourist activity. We erect a rustic tented camp at the dam exclusively for these trips.

All proceeds are utilised by Honorary Rangers to equip our game rangers in their endeavours to prevent poaching activities in our national parks. We also supply equipment to the game capture and relocation units.

The weekend’s activities include:

  • A helicopter flip over Kruger
  • A game capture
  • Bush walks with qualified rangers
  • Day & night drives
  • A demonstration on poaching techniques used by poachers

This is a wonderful and cost effective opportunity for customer entertaining, team building, staff incentives etc. Come and experience a real wilderness adventure, interacting with our game capture team and the game rangers, whilst making a meaningful contribution to the conservation of our wildlife heritage.
