Beginner's Birding Course in Kruger National Park
The West Rand Honorary Rangers are proud to present their inaugral Beginner's Birding Course in Kruger National Park in October 2008. The event will be run along similar lines to the region's very successful Kruger Birding Weekend, which is held in January each year, and sponsored by SASOL.
The event will run over 4 days and 3 nights at Punda Maria, with guests arriving on Thursday 23rd October 2008, and leaving for home on Sunday 26th October. Based on the success of this event, more camps may be included next year. While Punda Maria is the perfect birding camp, the downside is that there will be very limited available space available, so book soon!
The event is being held in conjunction with BirdLifeSA, and Joe Grosel will be responsible for the training over the weekend. Joe has an MSc in Ornithology and is an expert in the field of nature conservation and wildlife management-the beginner birders are in for a treat!
The weekend in jam-packed with activities, and birding lectures will begin at 16h00 on the Thursday afternoon. The weekend will end with informal birding in the camp grounds on the Sunday morning before departure.
The cost of the course is R1450,00 per person, and will include 3 nights shared accommodation, open vehicle bird identification drives, BirdLifeSA expert assisted birding, all lectures as well as lecture notes, competitions, a catered meal on the Saturday night, prizes and lots more!
Booking opens in the second week of April. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
