Network was very slow...After sorting the problem out at the cell company...now I can get onto the net.

Got the same camping spot we had in 2011
All set up and having a great time.
Saw Cheetah, Leopard and cubs feeding on a Impala and lots of Lions :D

Also trying to see if we can spot the rare 'Egyptian Vulture' that have been spotted on the S28 8)

Stayed at my daughter in Johannesburg for 2 days.
Phoned Croc Bridge on the 10th of May to see if we could come in on the 11th instead of the 12th of May...no luck with camping :( .....but we can get a bungalow :D ok we will stay for one night in the bungalow.

11 May....
Left Johannesburg at about 7am....got to Croc Bridge at 3pm. Booked in....ok now where do we park the caravan :? a camper saw us ride around...he wanted to know if we were looking for a site? no sites available he says...no we are not looking for a camping site, we need to park if for the night as we are staying in a bungalow. He then said we could park our van next to his...nice of him to offer :D At least we did not have to walk to far from our bungalow to our van to get food ect for a braai 8)

12 May....
We left at 6am, took a slow drive to Lower Sabie.
We saw a vulture on the side of the road...as we got closer these two lions come strolling out of the bush, walking at a fast pace...they were in a hurry!
Image
Image
We could not turn around as we had the van on.....we carried on...not much on the road now.
Stopped at Makhohlola water hole...only hippos around. We had our coffee and rusks, just watched the hippos and a few birds.
Got to Lower Sabie......I said to SO "wish we could get our fav camping spot"....well as we entered the camping site...there were a tent on on our fav spot :( ....but wait....they are packing up :D :D SO stopped and asked them if they are packing up or did they arrive? told SO no...we are packing up, we can have the spot but we will just have to wait as they are slowly packing up....not a problem we told them...we will wait....we were to glad to get the spot
We had more coffee and rusks

14 May....
Decided to take the S21 to Renosterkoppies.....
Just pass the Lubyeluby bridge I saw something running across the road ....got to the spot and we saw this big guy....he was in a hurry....
ImageImage
We then drove back to the bridge....sat there waiting to see if he will be walking in the riverbed...there were vervets calling out the alarm call........we decided to have our coffee and rusks while waiting....then we spotted him walking in the riverbed...he walked up the hill and disappeared into the thick bushes...wow he was a big guy :D
Carried on...then we saw these guys lying on the side of the road....we were worried :? looked like one of them were hurt....but as we got there we saw that they were sleeping :D
ImageImage
Sat watching them....then they got up and strolled into the bush.
Got to the Mhlupheka waterhole....saw this Kingfisher on a branch...

Got to Renosterkoppies...very quiet there...a few Impala around.
Sat there for a while....decided to have our breakfast there, cereals, yogurt, juice, biscuits and cheese :D
Decided to take the S114, turned into the S26 to go Mpondo dam....got to the dam...sat there for a while...
these guys came "begging"
ImageImage
This great egret were "fishing"
ImageImage
Turned around and gave us the look....
Image
We decided to go back to camp as it was getting hot....
a few klm from the dam we saw another leopard 8) he/she were chasing something....
ImageImage
got up into a tree....
Image
I looked onto the road and saw a lugwaan...it saw the leopard, froze in its tracks....just then the leopard also saw it...jumped off the tree and chased after it...we could just see the leopard in the bushes as it was chasing after the lugwaan...then we saw the leopard stop....just a few mtres away in front of the leopards we saw a snake in full length...facing the leopard  the leopard then backtracked from his spot...lugwaan was saved by the snake. On the photo you can see something that looks like a thin branch...but it is a snake..
Image
The leopard then walked further into the bush...lost sight of it.
Carried on....near camp we saw this Ellie go into the water...
ImageImage
Got back to camp...now it was hot. Had a lovely afternoon in camp.

19 May....
Had to get up very early....our friends want to see animals :D
Took the tar road towards Croc Bridge, turned off onto the S137....sat at Duke waterhole, having our coffee and rusks. Friends were very happy to be in the park :D
After coffee and rusks and watching the sun rise we carried on. At about 1klm further down we saw a few cars parked on the side of the road.... :hmz: wonder what they are watching...then we saw this in a tree...
Image
A couple told us there is a leopard and 2 cubs....the female made a kill, she ate a bit then left it in the tree so that the cubs could go and eat. We sat there for a long while hoping to see them....after a long while we saw this little face popping up to see what is going on....
Image
movement in the grass again....there is a cub climbing the tree...
Image
He/she then climbed to the impala and started to feed...
ImageImage
Wow you blink and the cub is gone again....
Now mom jumped into the tree....she was looking out for something....
Image
She climbed a bit higher....still looking out....
Image
Waiting for the other cub to come....a long wait....
