Just a few pics after a quick morning into the West Coast National Park.
a white backed mousebird, just look at its gorgeous red feet!
there were stacks of ostriches, far more than usual, with many young ones and very soggy feathers.
it was a grey day, but silver, not gloomy

this is the view over the Langebaan lagoon.
another view further along the lagoon.
a Southern Black-bellied korhaan, just outside the gate, it was "kraaking" at me all the time, but not scared at all.
and the korhaan peeking at us.
there were also many, many tortoises along the roads, there little 'tails' in the air as they bent over to drink water off the tar.
The only downside of the day, was that 2 tortoises were driven over by speeding cars
But, I will rather keep the image of a silver day, chirping birds and raptors that were extremely camera shy!
