Seeing it was Woman’s day today I decided I was allowed to do what I wanted to do…allowed to do exactly as I please….and after taking one look at the glorious day it did not take me long to make up my mind. I packed up my camera bag and headed off to Strandfontein Sewerage Works. Now seeing that is not SANParks I am not allowed to talk about that. Let be known though that I had a merry time chasing Black-shouldered Kites and Marsh Harriers. Eventually my hunger pangs forced me to head on back home . It was still a glorious day and I was determined not too spend too much of it at home so off I went to Boulders.
Needless to say so had every other tourist in town but I eventually managed to get myself a front row seat….and what a wonderful show the penguins put on for me.

There was plenty of activity on the beach..
Some were nest-building…



And some were sitting on eggs…(sorry no pic)

There were many babies in all sizes….some rather small and helpless ones



And some that looked like they were ready to take on the world.



There were many adolescents learning to swim...



And some were being admonished by Mom for walking on all fours…not acceptable penguin etiquette I believe....



Of course some penguins had to show off…put your left foot forward



And then your right…



More and more groups of hard working penguins arrived on the beach…..





All in all a very successful way to spend “Woman’s Day”
Even the penguins looked satisfied with their day.
