Saw a very big tusker right there in May last year. Only prob with babalala is that the hornbills and starling drive me cuckoo! :lol:

That big tusker seems to hang around there quite a lot. I took my 70yr old father inlaw who suffer badly from arthritis to Babalala. He wondered off to the toilet and stopped half way there to look at a bird in a tree when suddenly this big tusker popped his head out from behind the tree. It's still unofficial but we are still trying to register my father inlaw as holding the world 100m sprint record. :lol:

There is a big tusker that hangs out in the Babalala / Sirheni area that we have seen on a number of occasions. We also have a picture of him. We cannot remember his name (rangers told us), but his one tusk is broken. He has an askari. He has also been seen in the Shingwedzi area.

The Armored Ground Crickets? Yeah, last march 2008 I encountered hordes of them all along a stretch of the gravel road south east of P-M. Can't give rd no. as maps are packed. Leaving tomorrow early for Kruger.

When we stopped there for brunch in Feb. the attendant told us and showed us where a huge African Rock Python had made its home in the thatch roof.
Funnily enough the tables directly underneath where the snake was, remained empty the entire time we were there! :whistle:

I did mention it in my TR Ndloti, but not sure if we had a pic as well, will have to search through them.

When we were there we couldn't see the actual snake but just where the thatch had been disturbed and pulled apart to form a "hole"
The attendant assured us it was in there tho!
Maybe someone else posted a pic?

Good evening

No pythons, but saw this at Babalala in November 2008. The pride killed a buffalo close to the picnic site and whilst the adults were eating the kids went walkabout
