Hi can anyone help to confirm, or correctly ID this.
I first ID this from my insect book as a Slender Ant (Tetraponera). But on re-look and re-think an ant has 6 legs, also the Slender ant is only 4-10mm long and the eyes are on the side of the head.
This insect and I am now thinking spider has 8legs, is about 18mm long, it can spin a web ( see insert ). The actual eyes are in front ( see insert ). The eye on the side of the head I think are false eyes ???.
Saw this in a friends garden in Marloth Park.

I'll give it a try Naomi c:

No. 1 = Common Pond Damsel (Ceriagron glabrum)
No. 2 = Painted Sprite (Pseudragion hageni)
No. 3 = Same as No. 2, just from another angle.

Please correct me if I am wrong 'mites!

@blutuna: No. 5 is possibly a member of the Sand Wasps
@Nannie: Your 'Ant" is possibly a member of the Antlike spiders

Most female of the dragonfly family are this brown/orange colour so they are very hard to ID just like this. Some do have distinguishing marking to help like this one seems to have a bi-coloured "pterostigma"
( the dark spot in the wing) but that is common in a few species. Other than getting this dragonfly into the hand and studying the cell patens in the wing I would not hazard a guess as to the Species

Can anyone help with an ID of this bee? Seen along the Kommetjie seaside boardwalk (which is part of TMNP) in late November 2014.
