Who What When I can just hear all the questions....

Firstly the "Ietermagogs" consist of

Michele & Doug, C.O’Dee & K.O’Dee. Oulouis and SO ( Engela)

Why the name..well for want of a better one !!!

The six of us have had 2 planning sessions and as the evening progressed so did the laughter and the creativity. We finally decided on the name Ietermagogs (very rare and special but alert creatures ) because it lends itself to all sorts of derivatives eg.

ou - magog ( ou - old )
grys - magog ( grys - grey)
dronk - magog ( dronk - drunk)
moeg – magog ( moeg - tired)
engel - magog ( engel - angel )
bok – magog ( bok - buck or bok from the beer Urbock)
bang - magog ( bang - scared)
mal - magog ( mad - magog)
dof - magog (dof - stupid )
dop - magog (dop - drink)
rook - magag (rook - smoke)
slim - magog ( slim - clever)
woes - magog ( woes - angry/cross )
groen -magog ( groen - green /jealous )
moerse - magog ( moerse - great/super )

As to which one of us will earn which name….time will tell !!!!

We leave early Wednesday morning , overnight en route and arrive in KTP on Thursday !!!!!

So only two more sleeps and our long awaited trip will be upon us!
Are you packed Oulouis ??? Are you packed C.O'Dee ?????
Maybe if I got off this forum I would be packed

as some of us have been left behind to look after the house and be respoible (unlike the adults... upping and going to KTP)

OK - while you guys were chatting about I was packing - now I am finished and ready to go!!!

Also packed and ready. Don't think I'll sleep much tonight. We'll have to add vloek-magog (vloek=swear) for Mashona. Sorry you won't be in Grootkolk with us, Mashona, to do neighbourhood patrol for the poepbangvirleeusinmytent-magog ( veryscaredoflionsinmytent-magog).

@ingrid60 - This trip might make a good TV show, but a pangolin is just an animal whose Afrikaans name sounds so expressive.

I have just been getting the final instructions from my MOMMY!!!
We have THREE calenders printed out for us...

1) Where the Magogs are on each day
2) My chores for the 11 days
3) My brothers chores for the 11 days.

My final task for the night was to write down in which camps my parents will have signal...........

and....um....ja...well...you see....
THEY DON'T!!!

How am i going to sms to say goodnight, or sms to say hi, or even sms to find out what they have seen so i can update you???

Oh gollie i have a saw tummy all of a sudden!!!

It's NYALA - you doppie!!! On the 30th of May!! We will be meeting up with him and his SO, so will wish him for you!!

Off to bed we go - will be back on the forum in ...mmm... 28 days. So and me will be touring the Southern Namibia after the KTP trip.

Well I think I am almost done.. I have reorganised my camera bag at least three times now All that remains is to wake up at 3h00 ( should I even bother going to bed ) pack the fridge and away we go.

No more sleeps!! Well except the one on route to KTP. Now just to pack the fridge and then we'll soon be off too! Yes I know "Monty" and our 2 magog friends left at 4am, but fortunately for us my "Desert Rose" although small, can travel faster than "Monty"! I'm sure by the time we get home the Desert Rose will also be renamed - probably something like klein-magog (small-magog).

News from Ma Magog earlier this afternoon...

Journey went well, they had rain as far as Piketberg, then clear weather from there. They were in Upington when we spoke, enjoying an Ice Cream Only another 50kms before they overnight and then head for KK tomorrow am.

Oh dear......as for C O'Dee and K O'Dee......well they have already truely deserved the honour of being the first 'Dof' Magogs Could not find their way out of CT this morning...they overshot the N7 turnoff Not sure how far they got before they realised it!! Don't think they will be allowed to forget that in a hurry

If we're lucky we may hear from them tomorrow before they are totally out of comms
