This magnificent bird is common in our area, besides it's beautiful wings, it makes the most beautiful calls I've ever heard, my second favorute bird.

Have seen then nesting inside shopping malls, and they are common city birds.

On Friday, one flew into the Mantambeni hide in Kruger and ate the worm he had carried in, on the windowsill

I had a beautiful experience with a family of them at Olifants. We were at the resturant for lunch and while waiting FOREVER for our food a beautiful big one came right near us to show off its call. We also noticed a nest on the aircon outside. We saw the chicks head peeping up to get food from his mom. It was soooo tiny, must have been a few days old.

These redwinged starlings (female, left, and male, right) were observed foraging in the black rocks area of Cape Point in October 2008.
