Gudzani Dam,S41

beautiful pic! is it as clear in front of the dam as the pic suggests?

Never seen much here, except a tawny eagle fighting a DCG (one of only 2 I have ever seen), and a curious ant migration in the 'parking' area. They were quite big ants and were all within 1 square metre, wandering off in the same direction. A couple of minutes later they were gone.

I suppose it is not just about the big 5, if I think about it, these must be special sightings.

HI saw a leopard @ the dam in June ( just after seeing lions on the S100

I dont know what it is, but the Gudzani East waterhole is a magic place... On the nightdrive at Satara, I have seen 1 serval (of the 3 during the whole holiday!!) , and for the second time a pride of more or less 12 lions at this waterhole..

During the day we didnt have much luck, but the nightdrives in this region are the best in the park..

Gudzani Dam is a very special place with lots of silent impressive nature (except two loud gooses, driving me crazy in 2000 - one animal, one human). But i´ve also seen many animals there and in the nearby surrounding.

Crocodiles and Hippos in the water, big and little birds in the tree, lions at the road, in a near distance zebras, elephant etc. - i love that place!

A special place!

Had sightings of waterbuck, buffalo, ellies, African fish eagle, hippo, wildebeest, a rare sighting of impalas and giraffe. Also a good spot for bird parties and for having a coffee early in the morning.

Having just come back, this dam shows one of the quirks of the Kruger. Rain rain and more rain. Rivers and dams overflowing. BUT some areas and dams have had very little and Gudzani is still all but dry.
