Addo Elephant Park 13 September
This Wednesday was our day to go to Addo.
We drove from Port Elizabeth to the main gate and arrived there at about 10 am.
We started our trip seeing an elephant and soon after that some zebra.
This one held an eye on us.
The next animals we met where two blue cranes, a secretary bird and some warthogs.
We saw lots of kudu and a group of red hartebeest laying lazy in the grass.
There were lot of ostriches and dung beetles (and of course lots of dung)
We also saw a group of eland, vervetmonkey, meerkat, black headed heron, cape grijsbok, leopard tortoise, hoepoe and last but not least buffalo.
That was very special for us, because when we were in KNP 3 years ago whe only saw a buffalo kill near a group of lions,. but never a buffalo alive.
I must say that Addo is a beautiful camp with a variety of vegetation which makes it sometimes difficult to find something because of the thick bush, but at other spots it is very open and you can look very far.
Addo is a park you can’t see in one day but I am glad we visited this park and hope to come back once for a longer period.
