bert wrote We are happy that Sprocky did the edit but i did not ask him to. This is not intended to be a hi-jacking of the thread, but Bert who is WE that are all happy and please find out who did the edit because it was NOT me. Maybe a list of unacceptable words should be PM'd to all mites so that they know which words are allowed to be used. |

Damn, I am glad I have a life!
Do you know Kay, well, IF YOU SEE KAY tell her that I am hunting google for suitable words that do not offend any living beings! This petty dung means jack shoot to me. Acceptable? ![]() |

At officers school (old SADF) we were taught to choose our choice of language and wording in accordance with those listening, not necessarily only the audience but also those who may just passing by or just dropping in.

OK, so lets get back to the old SA and officer language courses....
Scintillating scintillating diminutive asterix. For the uneducated non SADF officers, this means... Twinkle twinkle little star. |

Sprocky wrote Damn, I am glad I have a life! Me too, Sprocky!! This level of god-forbid-we-might-offend-someone pussyfooting is shocking (as well as utterly stupid) Let's hear it for Freedom of Speech and Expression!!! This current level of PC "censorship" only gives innocuous words more power than they deserve |

Thank you Arks!!!
Just watch out for using pxssy-footing, if you know what I mean. We are all adults and watch X-rated movies and the news on TV, lets keep it real. I promise it will have no effect on global warming or aid in poaching in any way. |

Let's just remember another point: Many of our members are in fact children.
Although many words might be quite acceptable in adult conversation, I think we should try to steer clear of words we would not like our own children to repeat. |

I think I made myself clear.
Again with all the attempted funny remarks above, it is again not the system it is the individual. Freedom of speech does never mean that everyone can say what he/she like when he/she likes to whoever he/she likes. I am so pleased that I need not watch X-rated movies to get a kick out of life. This is exactly why we need rules. |

different sides of people seem to be coming to light. DB
There is a difference between being funny and inappropriate, never understood people who see the need to swear, and no im not only talking about adults, im talking about all ages, this coming from a young adult. |

I don't watch those movies either, but any channel on TV has bad language and if I insulted or humiliated anybody by saying ass, well get over it! I could have said arse, now that is bad!!!
If you let your kids have access to internet and are worried about a few bad words according to google, you must think again about being a parent. Maybe time to slpit this thread and let the senior members of society decide what we can and can't read or say, while their kids are enjoying the freedom of the net. ![]() |
