Before Addo was declared and established as a national park, the elephants in the region were shot one by one, until there were only 11 left. What was the name of the person who was employed to carry out these shootings?

He's also very famous for being almighty ticked off at the Germans for all the trouble they gave him in his pre-war hunting years, confiscating his stuff, throwing him in jail etc., in essence because they wanted his farm. So, when he got a chance at revenge he did it in spades during WWII. Using his knowledge of the areas he scouted the river (can't remember the details) where the German cruiser(?) Koningsberg was hiding. This ship was a thorn in the flesh of the Allied fleets, attacking and destroying supply convoys. He scouted the area, even going on board disguised as a local, and then led the Allied forces to the Konigsberg to destroy it. They used some or other reasonably flat-bottomed boats to approach close and unseen - can't remember what they were called, before destroying the Koningsberg where she was hiding.

The answer was B) Major P.J. Pretorius. We all know you can't take citrus fruit into Addo, pre-national park status the region was home to many citrus plantations and the ellies in the area loved raiding them. Cue the Major and his riffle. But then the plantation owners had a change of heart and came up with the idea of there being a protected area. And so in 1931 Addo Elephant National Park was born.
