That's a hard one... I've not seen enough of it yet, and I mean that purely as in where I've been. I don't think I'll ever see enough of it.
But so far... ehh... I really liked the area around Urikaruus... |

The BEST place is the gate at TR when I drive into the park
The worst place is the gate at TR when i drive out of the park......... But........Kwang waterhole, have spent many an evening with a glass of wine and smoked muscles looking at NOTHING....the silence Second would be Maries se Gat......... Grootkolk..... Could spend the rest of the day going on and on about places I love there... But now I pay homage to the 20km to go sign on the Auob....the first Leopard photographs Michelle, have a great trip...........( as he throws up in his barf bag ) Go forth and hunt the hunt with the 40D Steve |

I don't know KTP as intimately as those of you who are able to visit regularly but from my limited experience, my favourite places are Grootkolk and the drive from there to Union's End. I've done that drive early morning, late afternoon, and early afternoon and it was different every time. What makes it so special isn't particularly great sightings — altho I did see the leucistic PCG up close — but the colours, the light, the silence, and for the most part NO other cars.
I also did the much longer drive to Union's End from Nossob in 1992 and the memory stayed with me, so I think it was a favourite place even then. Grootkolk provides a much closer base and itself is the most amazing place — beautiful and peaceful and with almost nonstop activity at the waterhole. And of course nothing beats being roared awake by a lion just outside your tent!! |

1)Definitely Grootkolk - for the wide open spaces and the peace and quiet(when the lion is not roaring outside the tent) and the limitless possibilities of what you can see!
2)I have to also mention Urikariuus - you can expect to see anything at the waterhole. 3) My favourite drive - also Union's End and back to Grootkolk - for all the reasons mentioned before by other forumites. I also believe that the drive from Samevloeing to Rooiputs and back is great - the great sightings we have had here pushes the 'Kgalagadi' traffic jams into the background. |

Nossob hide/waterhole...its treated me very very well... But then again I love each and every inch of the kgalagadi, so a close second would come Bitterpan, great place with awesome and rear sightings!!!

The starkness and solitude of the Grootkolk area must surely take the cake. Marie se Gat loop for raptors and Dalkeith to 14th for most everything else.
