I have been watching with some sadness a general decline of the Quiz thread. :cry:

So lets have a little revival with an interesting animal based quiz!

The rules for this Quiz is as follows: This quiz is about mammals: Their identity, biology, behaviour, spoor etc. Anything interesting!

I will post the first question. Thereafter you earn the right to post the next question by being the first to correctly answer the previous question or give the best answer (Please do not re-type whole sections of field-guides!). :wall:

It is the responsibility of the person asking the question to identify the successful candidate to post the next question. This person must post the next question within three days, otherwise the right to ask a question reverts back to the person who posted the last question.

I will only intervene in case of disputes. :rtfm: And of course I will try my best to answer the questions you post! :wink:

QUESTION 1: IMBERBE

Name the mammal with the highest reach? (In other words, which animal standing on the ground can reach the highest in to a tree?)

It is in fact Elephant. Yes, a big giraffe is taller than an big elephant. (But then I did not ask which is the tallest!) Big elephant bulls are however able to stretch higher than giraffe. They can stand on their back legs and reach up high with their trunk, enabling them to reach higher than a giraffe to get to those tasty tit-bits!
