It has been a long time since we have visited Kruger and we noticed that there has been a fence erected on the northern side of the Sabie River between Skukuza and Lower Sabie. What is the purpose of this fence?

It is part of a scientific project where the effect the larger browsers have on the vegetation of the areas outside the fenced area, compared to that within the fenced off area.

When we were there in May/June this year it looked as if they were repairing the fence as there were some trucks and workers there, not sure if it was as a result of the floods earlier this year.
