I'm addicted to the KTP like so many other people.
Out of interest sake, i would like to know what other people might think around these suggestions.
1. I would like to see the establishment of a new Tsendze / Botswana style camping site around 50-100km North of Nossob. Firstly it is impossible to get reservations for Nossob over holidays, and with the water crisis in Nossob, it would be difficult to enlarge this camp.
2. Secondly i would like to get a new road between Mata-Mata and Nossob, linking some pans along the way, to give some more variation of routes, especially around Mata-Mata. This would also lessen the traffic on the current routes. (and less corrugations)

Actually my first choice would be to have KTP all to myself - but i know that's not going to happen.

Your first suggestion is doable but regarding the second one that would not as the area between Mata-Mata and Nossob falls inside the zoning area where no development may take place (Pristine wilderness area).

JABES - I like your first idea. Maybe something will come of it in the future.

I also wondered about another road from Mata Mata to higher up on the Nossob side. KG's answer explains why it can't happen - a shame but very understandable.

KTP is a wonderful park and very well managed. Looking forward to another trip - don't know when, though.

it seems to me there is enough roads through a so small park... you would like to cut it in squares... and then
first, this place belongs to animals... if you would like to keep it for the future generations

There was some talk a while back about extending/modernising certain of the KTP restcamps.
The granite tops in the kitchens at Kalahari Tented Camp are IMHO a welcome improvement

A new campsite north of Craig Lockhart was also proposed,if my memory serves me right.
At the time this subject was aired there were people who were for and against the proposals.

Any update on this topic?
Maybe KG could fill us in?
