Investigating the smilies - will only have an answer later this afternoon though.

On my machine it is a lot less now, actually as it should be.

RichardJ, have you deleted the board cookies via the link on the Index page? Open the Index page, scroll down to below the list of forums, and there is a link to 'Delete all board cookies".

Re the delete button/function:

Arks, LQ and Spook - can you see it on your post, if it is the last post in a topic, in the webcams forum for eg.

It seems my log in problem has been resolved. The shortcut came to the homepage with the reservation log in on the right. My forum user name appeared rather than my email.

I opened a new tab put in sanparks.org and the reservations showed email...went to forum and logged in automatically....so somehow, during the upgrade to the new backgrounds etc corrupted my log in.....all sorted now

OK so I tested it where you suggested (and what happened to THAT post that I wanted to now reply to ) and there is a delete button here — but NO place else. And I rarely/never post in webcams, so totally useless. Besides, the delete button is supposed to be available everywhere

@anne-marie: I know that I can 'edit' a post, but often I WANT to just delete and that certainly used to be an option

Something wrong with the display of pictures I have posted on the daily Webcam sections of the forum

Some pictures do get displayed and some don't is there some Website maintenance going on at the moment.....

Tried your posts Vinkie, and it is not the forums but Imageshack misbehaving.

Problem seems to be solved ....can see all my posted pictures and posts again.

The X (delete) still absent.

In the Webcam section of the Forum the (delete option) is active....

In this part of the forum you can still not delete a post....

100% correct, we do not allow delete in ALL the forums.

Webcams allow it as there are duplications some times.

WHY?!? It is only for one's own post and only if it is the last one in a thread, but sometimes you have second thoughts or — as happened to me recently — want to combine content rather than having two seperate posts. In that instance, being able to delete the second post and rather insert its content into my previous post would have been preferable.

But in any case, just as a general query, WHY would you NOT allow this option to delete in ALL forums?!? That makes NO sense whatsoever to me!!!
