Hello,

I didn't understand from the description of Hoerikwaggo Trails camp - is it accessible by car, or it's strictly for hikers? I couldn't find any directions to this camp (Orangekloof Tents in particular).

Thank you.

I think (but not certain) that it's only for hikers :hmz:

Ok -- now this is really confusing

Hoerikwaggo Tented Camps

Fall asleep under a myriad stars and awake to the healing sounds of nature. Our picturesque and comfortable tented camps, situated in unrivalled natural surroundings offer the ideal getaway.

Careful planning, use of invasive alien timber and innovative layout and design ensure minimum environmental impact.

Important information: All camps offer hot water, comfortable beds, open fires, fully equipped self-catering communal kitchens/dining areas and communal bathrooms. Guests need to provide their own bedding and towels. Each camp accommodates a maximum of 12 people. All camps are easily accessible by car and have dedicated parking areas.

Whereas the Hoerikwaggo Trail is definately hiking :hmz:

Will try to get some clarity .....

Thank you, please let me know if you find something. I've also posted a question in Tripadvisor.

Thank you. I've also sent a message to Sanparks, waiting for their response.

The Hoerikwaggo Tented Camps fall part of the Hoerikwaggo Trail (a 5 day hike from Cape Point to Table Mountain). The tented camps are dotted along the route as overnight accommodation for those doing the hike, and also just using the camps as separate accommodation.

It is not necessary to book to do the hike, only the accommodation need be booked. Orange Kloof tented camp falls in a restricted area of the park and is therefore only open to those who have booked the accommodation. Booking Orangekloof Tented Camp also acts as one’s permit to hike in this restricted area of the park. If not staying over at Orangekloof, a permit is required to hike this section.

For more information please read here :)

So I assume these camps are accessible by car, at least this is what Sanparks website says now.

I'm trying to choose in which camp to stay - Orange Kloof, Silvermine or Slangkop. Anyone stayed in these camps? What is the main difference between them? According to the pictures they are all beautiful, especially the first two.

Thank you.
