hi there,

this is baffling me already quite a while, but I cant find any answer for it in any books etc.

The woolynecked stork is often seen, wandering around (in or nearby water as it is is feeding ground) WITH its feathers blown up, the black/brown feathers just below his white neck.
Ive seen them doing that in company of other woolynecked storks, so has that something to do with courtshiping/attracting females??

looking forward to ur answers

My Roberts does say that the elongated black feathers of the neck are erected during displays, so I would guess courtship.
