Do you remember the days when you or your kids would stretch out the arms as wide as possible?

"mommy I love you this much", would be the refrain. Somehow the arms would never be wide enough. Its probably been the feeling many of us have about our wallets lately

When I saw Lesego's latest appeal about webcam upkeep, I felt really quite helpless. Its the webcam that drew me here, as it did many others. It is possibly the best marketing tool.. ever. My feeling is that it needs care and attention.

It is however a very unsexy thing to donate to. There is non of the emotional appeal of Rhino poaching.

Then I thought, rather than thinkiing big, lets think small .

As Erich Shumacher once said, "small is beautiful".

I am prepared to donate the price of one big mac a month to go towards the webcam fund. My wallet can stretch that far.

I am challenging all mites, like myself, who love Sanparks, but feel the pinch, to donate a big mac a month.

I would like other mites to join in the challenge. It is not going to be much money and filtered through the VHR's is makes it a fairly painless process.

Perhaps I am too lazy to browse through the forum, but where do we donate? Our Mac has closed down but I will pour singles instead of doubles one weekend per month. This will be a substantial contribution.

I am going to donate into the VHR's account and label it "cam funds". I think the details are on the website. After the auction I just left them as a beneficiary.

Have been out of civilisation for 3 years - living in a one horse town, on a mega project build. What does a Big M cost these days so that I know how much for our family of 4 to donate!

What's a Big Mac?

I thought of the Big Mac because it is now recognised by economists as been the most accurate measurement of currency. Currencies fluctuate and the latest Euro crisis has demonstrated just how tenous this can be. The rand, for instance, is very undervalued.

Mac Donalds is everywhere. It's prices reflect the buying power of the people they serve. It aim is affordability and cleanliness. It has not reached "nutritional" yet, though its on its way.

I do not often eat a Big Mac. I chose this image though, because this is an international forum and everyone would understand the curency and value used. Big Mac allows us to speak the same language.

Imagine if Mac Donalds puts in a tender for Sanparks. It would give the dear impie with its Big Mac sign on the bum much more milage

Another idea maybe Kruger can ask for royalties from Big Mac. After all, the impies bum was there long before the Big Mac. Its something called copyright.

Oh what the hell. Due to a stressful job I am currently eating and drinking my way through a can of a certain brand of fizzy, sugar loaded, caffeine drink and a large pack of crisps (chips) a day, costing me £1.50 a pop. I was going to try and stop anyway and put the money towards a massage every month. So for the next year I will put £5 per week/£20 per month (I'm not giving them up totally!) towards the cam upkeep.
