Travelling past MZNP are many private reserves. It was therefore not surprising to read about the proposed corridor.

We came across these strange buck, first timers, stopped, reversed, camera out and...they get up and move off!!!

After the end of the pass and with the T-junction in distant sight, a herd of strange buck next to the fence....same routine, by the time we got back to them they were almost gone, over the ridge

While I was in reception SO took some pics of animals inside Cambeboo

We took a short drive to the tent area to have a 'look'.....we were not the only gate crashers

After some food in civilisation we headed out to the 'Valley of Desolation'.

I had visited Graaff-Reinet on my 16th birthday many, many years ago. It was a boy scout get together camping and hiking in the surrounding mountains. I was allowed to open my birthday present from my mother...a bird book. We still use it today!

And so I had to show SO the sights that we were shown then.

After the gate, on the mountain side of the dam, we saw what looks like an Eland.

Up to the Valley of Desolation...now has walls to keep people safely away from the edges...us scouts scampered like dassies all over the place
