Tx again for viewing and comments
White-fronted Bee-eater was spotted a few times Sometimes the White-fronted Bee-eater also use the perch to hunt flying insets in the air or over water. Common in the bushveld, especially near water. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Jan, did you spend a lot of time at Lake Panic?
The range of your experiences is truly amazing. I had one very remarkable experience at Lake Panic about 4 years ago. Sadly, I did not have a camera, but all the photographers were beaming from ear to ear. I was sitting enjoying a few moments of peace, this was early August. Suddenly the bush seemed to tremble and there was the sound of breaking branches. I thought that it must be an elephant stampede, it was so powerful. Next thing, hippos, about 30 hippos came stampeding into the lake. They were in complete panic and the sound and sight was truly awesome. The spray alone was quite magnificent. |

Jan. Those are truly amazing photos. I am sure you had to sit there waiting a long time, waiting for the Goliath Heron to strike.
It surely paid off as the pictures are great !!!! ![]() |
