8/9 for me.

Herewith challenge #18 for the year.

I thought to "spice" it up a bit, add something unusual, so to speak... Of the nine birds featured, one is an escapee and another will often be classified as an escapee, although infrequently the rarities committee have in the past ratified a sighting as genuine.

So, you must ID the escapee (if you are able to provide an ID, you'll get a bonus point!) as well as the vagrant that will struggle to get official acceptance. (No bonus point will be awarded for this ID as it does not require special resources...)

I'm sure you all will have great fun with this challenge! Some of those out-a-towners will rue the fact they they are out of reception range!

Ok, so let me get it right, the challenge will count out of 11? ID 9 birds correctly and ID which two are the vagrant and the escapee? Or will it count out of 12, with the one strange bird ID giving 2 points?

There are seven "normal" birds that earn seven points, one vagrant that earns one ordinary point for its ID and one point for its "vagrancy status" correctly pointed out and then one escapee that gets one point for the "escapee status" correctly pointed out and TWO points for those 'mites that can ID the bird as well... That is then a possible total of 12 points.

Makes sense?

I wonder if I should even try this one?!

That is the opposite reaction to what I expected from this challenge!

I thought EVERYONE will be excited beyond words because of the added spice!

Common, 'mites! Let's get enthusiastic about our birding challenge!

I am very excited about this challenge Johan, but I know my own abilities. But please don't get upset, I will attempt this challenge.

8/9 for the last one, and am dying to know where we went wrong........... are we getting the results sometime JvR?

This new one looks rather hectic, well all this talk of escapees and vagrants etc does... should be fun though.

My answers are in... but I'm worried about the vagrant... ... unless I've made several mistakes with my ID's there are several candidates!
