Can anyone please give me your thoughts on this frog? I think it is a Karoo Toad. Seen up on the Molteno pass near Beaufort West this past December.
Thanks in advance. |

Hi, could anyone help me with this reed frog? I found it in Harare, Zimbabwe, so it is either Sharp-nosed (H. acuticeps) or Bocage's Sharp-nosed (H. benguellensis) Reed Frog. It was about 25-30mm in length.
Thanks Nick |

Looks like a foam nest frog to me. (but I could be very wrong with the id.) I read they can turn white in color during daylight time.

Yes, it's a southern foam nest frog (Chiromantis xerampelina). They turn white to reflect heat in the sunlight.
Gilbertr14... well done on the subspecies identification |
