Rietvlei is a Nature Reserve is about 3,800 hectares in size, within the reserve is the Rietvlei Dam.

The reserve is located just off the R21 between Pretoria and OR Tambo International Airport.

Take exit 12 (M31 Nellmapios Dr., Irene) from the R21, turn towards the east (there is a brown information sign boards indicating the reserve), at the first 4 way stop, turn right and about 2.5km down the road you will find another brown information sign board indicating a left turn towards the reserve entrance.

There is so much development going on around the area that the 4 way stop is now a large junction with Robots (traffic lights Dotty!). The reserve is well signed though.

Dot's where exactly are you? Your avvie describes little pink elephants
and your directional abillities are quite accurate!, more accurate if
compared with our cell GPS!!! We travelled that road today.

Who needs a GPS when we have a dotty!!!

You know Dots, done that myself once! Went for a cyber holiday
all on my own, with the help of google, went all the way to Punda.
Funny I never bothered to traverse and left it at that, so by rights
I'm still there.
