Natal Sand Frog - Tomopterna natelensis

Appearance

Stocky Body.
Mottled grey or russet.
Slightly pointed snout.
Two glandular ridges from eye and mouth converge above shoulder.
Horizontal pupils.
Belly white.
Male has a black throat.
Call: Penetrating yelps preceded by build-up of accelerating croaks.
Breeds in streams and vleis in grassland in temperate, high rainfall areas of highveld and eastern escarpment.
