Thanks Ales for the ID. He possibly got into the camp when he was much smaller and is now a resident, although there are a few gaps under the fence along the Rhino walk on the dam side. Thanks again. bondm

Hi Lourew and a warm welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately your photo does not show.

You need to use a Hosting Site to be able to upload photos to the forum.

Have a look here.............. How to.. Host photos for use with Trip Reports.

Depending on the size of your photo you might need to resize the photo before uploading it to the forum...........
How to.. Resize Your Photos With IrfanView

Please ask if there is anything else we could help you with......

It looks like the Mountain Tortoise (Stigmochelys pardalis) to me, but I am not an expert at all.

Thanks Elsa. I wondered if it was a mountain tortoise, but the only images I had seen on the internet were taken from the front of the mountain tortoise. In comparison to the images I have viewed, this one seems to have, 1) flatter scutes (not very raised or pointed) 2) the gulars (the first part of the plastron at the head end) are not pointed or notched, 3) none of the images I could find showed the back end of the mountain tortoise, and this tortoises rear scute curls right down and I couldn't see a tail. Thanks for your help.
