Tree Agama (Agama atricollis)
I saw this agama in Skukuza in a tree next to our bungalow. I like the camouflage a lot!

There is a resident agama at Satara Camp. The male has a bright blue head. I don't think it's a tree agama though.

Wild about Cats It was almost certainly a tree agama - the males have a range of blues (green - to brilliant) that they deck themselves out in for breeding colurs. There is a small chance it my have been a Southern Rock agama but it was far more likly to have been a tree agama

I saw this Tree Agama in the Kruger National Park last year.
![]() Did you Know? Most agamas are polygamous. Males may hold six or more females in their territory for breeding. |
