Reservation Cancellation

Hello
We have cancelled a reservation, but have been instructed by telephone to request the refund via email, and provide our credit card details in this email.

Providing credit card details via email is not secure, and to be honest, I am not 100% comfortable in doing this. Would SanParks not have the details on file, and be able to process the refund?

Reservations, by way of phone, when making a reservation takes your credit card info. Can refunds not do the same? Is there another way to request the refund without putting credit card details in an email?

Hi hollydog

I spoke to a helpful lady at Reservations and she explained the following:

When making a booking and giving credit card details over the phone; the number is punched in but not saved or recorded once the payment is made.

When a reservation is cancelled the Finance Dept make the refund and require an email request by the client and won't act on a verbal request from Reservations.

The only number needed, apart from client code and reservation number, in the email for a refund is the credit card number but not the cvc number on back of card which is needed to process a payment/debit on a card.
