It has been mentioned lately that the forums are basically split into two halves, with many only visiting the "fun" threads like Travel Tales and Mammals on the upper half of the Board Index, while others prefer to look at the more mundane/confrontational threads at the bottom, where a bit of input is required...

What do you do First when you log on?

Regarding PM's, when I have one I am normally nervous, as it spells trouble! How do other forumites react?

I check for spammers .
They are found on top, underneath and seldom PM.

Do I tell ... or not?

I have my browser set to open on the mods forum (so at a glance I can see who has been naughty, or nice, and write one of those PMs to RP he mentioned getting )

To read the forums, I use the "View new posts" options to catch up since I was last here, and then use the RSS feed to read what posts come up.

That does not really answer your question though does it RP?

I prefer both.

I just go all over, on top, below, to the blogs, & pms is ok if you have more than one peoples pm'sing at different times.

Mods are weirdos and don't count as us normal people!

I am inclined to go fist to the "hot" thread(s) (if there is any at that moment), then I pass and say "hello" on the GGGG thread in Chit-Chat; then I attend whatever actual threads that I have subscibed to and if I have time, the TRs that I am following. PMs are always welcome; they mean that something is moving, good or bad, it does not matter

PMS whats that pre me.....oops. dont get those too often so I normally go to active topics first am still finding my way around and on many occasions come across something of interest in a link for eg Scipio's moments ha ha. TR's have me "hooked"

What does "subscribed to" mean? I really don't know!

I'm mostly in the chit chat threads...the supposed bane of the Forum's existence
At least that's where I started when I joined. I'm interested in nature conservation, and since visiting the kruger park, have been hooked as so many people are. But I'm also interested in the diversity of the people that inhabit this world wide forum. everything from the difference in cultures, language and even food.
Now since being on the Fac, my horizons have been expanded. With no choice I examined all the threads, from travel tales (which I had already enjoyed) to quizzes ( which I was always shy to contribute to ).
sure there are other forums where one can "meet" people from all over the world and discuss whatever...there are other nature forums as well, but none...in my opinion, as diverse as this site.
You (we) should all be proud of what Sanparks has developed here and

Isn't it rather the forum members and the mods that have "developed" the forums. Sanparks has created a web site with forums.
