I have read a travel tale but I cannot remember which one. It went something like this
" We arrived at our campsite and I stopped the vehicle. My SO went to inspect the ablution blocks but I had to manoeuvre the caravan into its position and unhitch the caravan. After about 40 minutes SO returned and by that time the fire was already on the go."

Now the "I" would be Mr and "SO" Mrs. Says who? I had a friend who's father had a stroke and was paralysed on his left hand side so his mother did all the work including driving the car unhitching the caravan etc. Now if someone made a comment to the effect that Mr had to do all the hard work while Mrs hid in the bathroom, the poster of such a comment would be very ambarrassed if the truth is revealed. You catch my point?

I personally like to know where a formite is from, and many times my initial impressions were wrong, but as it is it doesn't create a big problem.

For the age question I would suggest not inserting the actual age but having a coloured badge somewhere. Each age group with a different colour (15-20 Yellow - 21-30 Red) and so on. Have the badge inserted, maybe next to your name and this way we would know if we're chatting with a 15 year old or 70.
Not sure it can be done but have seen it on a social network and in that case the colour of your name was coloured according to your age group.

I do, but I don't think most people take themselves that seriously?

Actually considering all the implications, maybe it would be better to leave things as they are. Nothing should be compulsory apart from a clean language and a polite behaviour There is allways the PM....

This is a tough one, as has been said the whole thing of internet is the idea of being kind of anonomous. But after a while most people have a good idea of whats what. i think lots of hes get accidently called shes and vice versa, i was called a she, hey elzet
