I don't think the speeches were to long or one sided and also the thanks were ok. I wasn't there to listen to them, was outside having a smoke and organising my beer

Yes the starter was too hot for us to eat too, but the dessert was very nice.

My heart sank when I tried the starter as it was so spicy.......but my 'boss' likes spicy things, and I have been getting used to them.....and to my surprise I finished the lot, and did not find it too bad after all!!!!!!!!! Did not even need a drink to cool my mouth down either.

Was not sure what the main course was supposed to be, but ate it anyway.

Then was disappointed to find that the dessert spoon was just for show!!!

Also had to wait for a drink - asked twice and was ignored, then directed my request to the lady who appeared to be in charge and informed her I had already asked twice before....and about 15mins later eventually got my drink.

But still a very enjoyable time! Thanks to all involved.

Eish.
I just loved the starter.
Well cooked and with just the right amount of spice in it.

Just had a great time to see people trying to eat it, but then. I love spicy.

The main course was a kind of meat loaf with mashed potatoes and an assortment of vegetables.

The desert was well executed and tasty, but a bit rich for some peoples taste.

All in all. A great meal.

Well done cooks.

Hi Michel,

Just shows where peoples tastes differ.

I loved the dessert, but couldn't eat the starter, my mouth was numb

I thought the main course could have been rolled Chicken, sweet potato mash, pumpkin 'carrots', courgets and peti pans with a gravy, but at that time I would have eaten anything, except for perri-perri.

Otherwise we would all be eating mieliepap. :wall: :wall:

Oh how I would love to have some Elephant heart with a rich, Peri- Peri, based saus with wild garlic and wild unions. Yummy.

The starter was too spicy for me too, but the main course was delicious! The dessert was scrumptious and very well presented. All in all, I could not find fault with the food at all and even the catering specialist (Bushbaby33) at our table was satisfied.
I think the KTP team (and Jannie) deserved their moment of glory and the Orange Angels were special, really better than "Tannie Evita"! The kiss was impressive
Speeches will be speeches: always too long and more interesting to the speaker than the audience. Thank you's are important and a function like this has to have them. How else would we have known who did everything?
At the risk of boring everyone, thank you once again to everyone who made my first cricket weekend special!

Venue was great the company fantastic, food was great and the booze was great (even if it took a bit of time to get it). Just remember what our honourable Director of Ceremonies said at the beginning of his speech.
In Africa we have the time, elsewhere they have a watch

Thanks to everyone who made the cricket weekend possible myself and Babe 1 had a awesome time,it was nice to see familiar faces again and meet new ones. The function was great, food was good the speeches we found a bit drawn out and the drinks service slow other than that we had a great time. The knee is healing well it just swelled up like a balloon on our way home (suppose it was because of the driving)anyway ill be sure to strap it up for next year for the cricket!! Thanks again to everyone see you all next year or maybe in between!!! Dafie

Back home
Had a great weekend
A salute Scipio and Tshukudu for being on the field all day
Was hot, so hot that the we had to escape at 3 (coming for few degrees above zero  )
Had a little heat stroke, but a rest and a asperine made it all go away.

And to Dinkybird who done so much planning and phoning/mailing with SANparks
And to Ecojunky behing the auctiontable all day
And to everyone of the planning committee.
And to Dafie,Rey and Dave for being the MC of the day
And the scorekeepers and bloggers
And Rein for making the kids smile
And the cricket teams
And all of Skukuza/SANparks staff helping out
And to Frikkie who had to work and still umpired and attended the dinner
But without the forumites who joined and participated this would have never happened
Thank you, old and the new faces

Wondered what had happened to you Bert, but glad you felt better afterwards, that heat must have been difficult to take after your cold winter.

My thanks to all as well, I enjoyed watching from the sidelines even tho we could not be there this year, maybe next one!
