Bush Baptist will soon be joining the swallows and swifts on their migration to the UK, leaving behind the cold, wet windy weather of Cape Town for the sweltering heat of a British summer, if it lasts, which it won't.

Towards the end of his stay he is coming to visit me in Portsmouth. It is likely to be sometime during the week of 18th-22nd June as he is hitching a lift with his son who will be working in the area for the day. We will know more nearer the time.

So if you can join us it would be lovely to see you. We haven't got any firm plans as yet, we can make them up as we go along.

Oh and he'll have some of the Stiffneck Beanies and Scarves with him, raising money for the anti-poaching efforts of the Honorary Rangers, see here for more details.

A bit far for us to come sadly, but have a wonderful time.
We met him in Cape Town last year, and would dearly liked to have met up again.

I would love to join you if I can. SO (Wildimage) currently having chemo so he would not be able to come but if he is well enough to leave for a few hours, would love to meet up.

Hi.

I would have loved to have meet everyone but I have a flight back home (South Africa) on the 25th of June and therefore will not be able to make it.

Well the beanies have landed and are making their way down to the south coast with an ETA of Wednesday 20th June.

Sorry for the short notice but BB is dependent on a lift down from London.

Haven't made any arrangements yet, other than the date. I'm thinking a little lunch somewhere and then its dependent on who turns up on what we do before/after.

Can anyone make it? And if so ideas would be welcome.

On a nice day the Crown and Anchor pub at Dell Quay, Appledram (just south of the A27 at Chichester) is a nice place. If warm sitting outside watching the boats and birds on the water is a real treat. The food is also good.
I don't know of anywhere closer to Portsmouth apart from the Royal Marine Museum at Southsea which is right on the seafront and has a cafe and plenty of parking.
