As you may know, the Prings (Dave and Lorraine) are here in SA again!

How about another meet with them here in Gauteng. Two years ago we had a winner of a meet. On Saturday (23 July 2011) they will be available. We thought a braai at Rietvlei should be great. If Rietvlei is fine, we could meet at 12:00 and get the ball rolling!

Ai Oom, why don't we sommer camp at Rietvlei? It is going to be too cold to braai on open plains next to water... Brrrrrrrr.


Why don't we rather opt for a place like Monte Casino, with a nice cozy restaurant, low light from candles, yummy food, service, luxury??

It is Dave's 80th b-day on the 22nd. Let's celebrate in style!

Wish we could be there but as some of you know we'll be in UK then to help my parents celebrate their Diamond Anniversary on 21st July.

Will certainly raise a glass or two from there to say Happy Birthday to Dave.

Wow, I see this meet is starting to "rocket" now!

I had a pm or two with Mads about Rietvlei. (Thank you Mads, you are a star! ) Maybe we can have the lapa at Rietvlei for the braai and after that a late afternoon game drive on the open vehicle for those who are interested! It cost R135 per person for the game drive...minimum 10, maximum 20 people.

I will let you know as soon as I receive more details!

Hi there mighty Mites!

I received some good news from Mads. We can have the lapa at Rietvlei for free if we book the game drive as well (R135 per person). In such a case we only have to be out at midnight!

If we don't take the drive, we can braai/picnic at the picnic spot and have to be out of the park at 18:00.

I'm off to Kruger on Saturday (9 July) for a week ( ) and must know within the next day or so whether we are going to be enough Mites to book the drive and lapa or not. If you feel that a meet at a restaurant is a better option, please post your suggestions here.
