I'll post this here intially and then have the mods move it to Meets and Greets where it probably belongs.
In another thread Glen79 and I were chatting and the idea formed to have a forum campout at Balule. Thing is we want to book out the entire camp for ourselves so we need to plan this deep into the future. At least a year or so ahead so we can book the place. Even the long weekend in September 2010 is pretty booked up in this popular little camp. Who of you are campers and would enjoy a meeting of this nature? Say three nights sometime when the chances are we will wake up in the AM without the tents being washed away by rain. I'll keep an updated list af all those who want to do this. Also will be treated on a 1st paid first confirmed basis. Rules: Only open to forum members and immediate family. (Spouse, kids) To book out Balule completely You must have your YR. Deposits will be forfeit once paid. To be donated to a Fund to benefit KNP. (will have to think of something worthy to donate to.) It is for campers only. (Unless you consider yourself a camper and can prove it by having the right equipment, begged borrowed or ......) Bring all your own food and beverage and some wood for the communal fire. All Normal SANPARKS RULES will apply. All game drives are at your own discression, game walks, and other activities are for your own account. In so far: Sprocky Yours truly Glen70 Zeelie Forrestgump Possibles G@mespotter PJW Nungu Scipio Additonal edit. PErsonally I'd like this to happen at Balule but not fixated on it. Consider another location and let's put it to the vote. |

Sprocky, dude, that blue signature line is a little worrisome. You relaise it might cause conflict with some of the other colour avies and signtures.
What, did you guys get like a bulk discount on that daft avie? See quite a few sporting that bullshot. Edit: Dates still have to be discussed since we are looking to book the whole camp, we will need to get some ideas of when it fits most people. Work around that for now. |

I'd be very interested, its more a question of timing and leave etc.
Would we still need YRs? |

BunnyHugger wrote Last time we were at Balule, the freezers only cooled our stuff mildly. Seriously did not even freeze the plain water bottles we had and they were in there for two days. We'd just have to make sure the freezer's working |

And def no blue ribbons, balls, bulls, or anything else. (Oh damn,my tent is blue. Ok, blue tents allowed (and blue cars.) Just bring along an extra cooler box and that camp freezer you were boasting about in another thread. |

If it is during a school holiday or long weekend we would be interested. We usually book KNP a year in advance. I'm just wondering whether other guests/SANParks would be happy about a camp being booked out to a group over a busy period...

I don't think SAParks would mind as long as we pay the going rate? Might be interested. depending on dates. And yes we are fully equipped campers, tents , gazebos cooler boxes . In fact the whole trailer load of gizmos and gadgets that go with camping

The camp is booked and paid for nonetheless. A long weekend would suit me too (though I don't think I can do Easter weekend) |

forestgump and family will be there.
one caravan site will be needed. Forestgump can bring a bakkieload of firewood. if someone else could just bring a bakkie load of meat, that would be great lets set the dates though, what about Maroela if Balule too fully booked ? |

Sounds good, if I knew I could get a few days off etc, then I'll consider myself coming. Aren't there a few Public holidays making up a nice LONG WEEKEND or something?
Eish... |
