As a novice, can anybody please tell me which kind of light to buy to enable me to see scorpoins at night?
Also any pointers in this regard would be welcome. I have always wanted to do that, but have no idea. |

You need a Ultra Violet light. You find handy little UV torches, so no major layout is needed.
You can order from here: www.scorpions.co.za A very basic torch is more than adequate. |

Hi Imberbe
Thanks! on the subject of Scorpions I have just posted a quick guide to the scorpions of the Central Lowveld which includes the central Kruger. It's free from the download section of my website. The document is about 1.6mb and can be found at : http://www.scorpions.co.za/index.php?op ... &Itemid=57 Please feel free to distribute the PDF document to whoever would like it. Works well when loaded onto a smartphone. :-) Kind regards ScorpionKing |

Very interesting peep into the world of Scorpions, with photos and hospital helpline for serious stings.

Amazing photos of scorpions in uv light.
Some of those guys have scary tails, must pack quite a sting! |

Would it be worth bringing a UV torch to KNP for scorpions in august or are they unlikely to be around then?
