And finally, my favourite butterfly sighting was this Green-eyed Monster. Well, I guess I like the name that refers to its brilliantly green eyes, but also the habit this butterfly displayed of burrying its head into the aloe flowers to get to the nectar, their proboscis seemingly being too short to reach otherwise. It cannot see one approaching during that stage and I snuk up very close while they were so engaged. They are seen from Cape Town to the northwest province in a broad band along the eastern part of the country.
