Hi Katja,

Juvenile Black/Yellow-billed Kites. Young birds like these are very difficult to seperate, but Black Kites tend to be more heavily streaked below, with Yellow-billed having more uniformly coloured underparts.

I would go with a juv. Kite. Look at the long wings and light markings on the upper wing coverts. Also no yellow and horizontally, elongated body just like a typical kite!

A newcomer writes....
Go back to post on 5th september 2008 (page 1) Tilandi's Raptors.
2nd one is surely an immature Black (Verreaux's) Eagle. Mottled plumage, Golden Crown etc.,??

There was a discussion on the webcam forum whether this was a Verreaux's Eagle or a Barn Owl.
