![]() Seen at Mlondozi Dam PS, KNP (Oct'06) A small black bird (14-16 cm) with white markings on the wings and under the tail. Female has grey underparts and is duller overall. A noisy woodland species, chattering continuously to keep the small flock together. Sometimes joins other bird species when foraging. Forages along branches, in crevices on bark and among leaves. Feeds mostly on wasp and caterpillar larvae by picking pod, holding down with foot and pecking hole to extraxt the larvae. |
