Hi Senyetse,
The two huts are very similar inside. Here's the kitchen area, with solar fridge/freezer and gas plate stove: ![]() here's one bedroom: ![]() and the 2nd bedroom: ![]() and then the "hikers bedroom" - you need to bring your own bedding if you want to make use of this bedroom. ![]() The toilet and shower are outside, a short walk from the house: ![]() There's a braai area outside and a fireplace in the kitchen. Outside view: ![]() ![]() Hope these photos help! |

DuQues, sure, I'll take several pics.
It does look nice, hey? I really like rustic types of cottages with gas and paraffin. So much more atmospheric. |

Wow, These huts look great, compared to the time when I did the hiking trail in 1990.

Hi - can anyone tell me the distance from the entrance gate to the mountain huts? We have to leave early the second morning.... but I'm not allowed to book one night at mountain hut and one night camping...ie how long will it take me to get out of camp from the mountain hut? Many thanks!

Hi Mary,
There is no reason why you can't book a mountain hut one night and a campsite the next night. You are welcome to PM me if we can assist to sort out your booking. From the mountain cottages to the rest camp is about 11 km and from the rest camp to the gate about 12.5 km. The gate opens at 7am and the speed limit in the Park is 40km per hour. If you need to leave earlier, you will need to contact the Park to make arrangements - mountainzebra@sanparks.org |

Hi Andre & Bets,
There's not much difference between the 2 huts in terms of animal sounds, quietness or remoteness. They're both great! |
