Thanks very much for all your replies -- I'm delighted to tell you that we have now booked 2 nights in Sep 20010 at Kieliekrankie and so excited after hearing your reports. I shall report back with my impressions when we visit (sigh) so long to wait.Just to make you envious we have 3 nights at both Grootkoolk AND Urikaruus :

You lucky fish

KK will allways be my favourite camp in Kgalagadi, There is never more than 9 people and when that lions start to roar down at the waterhole and the eggo comes up to the tents its amazing.

I'll be staying in Kieliekrankie in Feb 2011 for 3 nights!!! First time in KTP and can't wait! Will be in the Park for 3 weeks in total. Sounds like it will be a completely different experience from KNP... no cellphone reception, no power to charge camera batteries and laptop... any suggestions?

Last time I was there I had cell reception, and not only that it was even a strong signal. I was surprised to get a signal there so I sent a text message to DuQues to make sure that I wasn't seeing things and it worked fine.

Our fourth leopard sighting during our weeklong trip in Nov 2009 was on the morning of our departure, at the Kieliekrankie waterhole (the other 3 sightings was in Grootkolk)

I've been up and down through several threads for this info, but couldn't find it:
Which number is the unit for the mobility challenged? I never specifically asked for it,
when making the reservation, but got it confirmed for my next trip.
(and I so want no. 4)

Hi
We are planning to spend 3 nights at Kieliekrankie next year. I just want to find out if there are 2 units that are 'closer' together. Reason is that the children will have to sleep in their own unit and I am just thinking about the risk of walking back to their unit at night after supper?
Any ideas anyone?

Think you will have to arrange it with the ranger if you want to walk at dark from one unit to a other. :hmz:
