Prime origins Guide to "Best Birding in Kruger" -I don't know if this book has been mentioned on the forum before as I think it is a fairly new publication. I ordered it directly from the publishers in December and am absolutely thrilled with it. Should you be looking for a book on Kruger birds, I can strongly recommend this one - it really does give you everything you need to know. We are going up to Kruger at the end of January for our first trip in the summer months, and this book has given me so much info on where to look for which birds etc - as well as an excellent checklist giving the new English names as well as the previous name.

Thanks Wild@Heart. I had looked on Kalahari but did not find it. Thanks for the info about the other on-line book stores - always great to compare prices & delivery costs. Looks like a great book which I will order before my trip in Feb 08.

Well it is all your fault... I have order 4 books from Prime Origins - think the Forum should get some of the profits!!! Now there is definitely no space in my luggage - perhaps I can just squeeze in a tin of Milo & Mrs Balls chutney when I return!!

I would like to say that this is a "must" for a novice like myself. It makes identification so much easier, as it clearly states what might be found where.
It does need to be used with a a good field guide though. There is also a wealth of information on Kruger and eco zones, climate and vegetation and how this impacts on the various bird species. |

I'm struggling to find this book - anywhere - it appears out of stock with the printers!
I'm willing to pay - anything (not quite but you get the idea!) - to anyone who wants to sell a copy - double the value etc. Please send me a PM if you're interested |
