To all who need a hug today ....

Everyone Needs Someone

People need people and friends need friends
And we all need love for a full life depends
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldy fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we're understood
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life's greatest need
When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed
The outstretched hand reaching to find
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind
Are lonely and longing to somehow share
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware
That life's completeness and richness depends
On the things we share with our loved ones
and friends.

Can I please have a forum hug? :? I probably don't have much right to any seeing as how I haven't been very forthcoming with hugs for others and I am sorry about that, I am not so good at that stuff. :?

But I thought after last year which was categorically the second worst year of my life, that this year by comparison was starting out quite well.

Then my oldest son's 7 year relationship ended. The relationship he left home for at 17 and moved over 2000kms away. He is heartbroken and devastated. So I am heartbroken for him. I am heartbroken that I have lost a girl who has been a member of our family all this time.

Then today only a week after he has moved from his old home to a new house to start again, he has been handed a termination notice. Made redundant because his employer is in financial difficulty. Now he has no job and has a new lease to pay and lives in one of the most expensive places in Australia.

Sometimes as a Mum I just flounder about crying endless tears because I can't make it all better for the ones I love most in this world, my sons. When they hurt, I hurt. And I worry and then worry some more.
I know the sun will keep coming up and things will sort themselves out but bloody hell it's hard sometimes.
:( Thanks for listening everyone.

Thank you so much everyone for kind thoughts! :gflower: Sometimes it helps just to share the burden a little as it were.

My SO has been away over Easter and now working late shifts so I have been alone a lot and that makes conditions ripe for getting down.

Will be seeing my son by mid May and looking forward to it so much! :)

Thank you Porridge and T-t I appreciate your kind words of support. :)

Yes, it will be wonderful to see him we only get to see him about twice a year. Sometimes only once. :(

I am sure that it will be a lovely visit. If he is still job hunting we can hopefully give support and advice and on the upside we will have more time with him!
