Thanks ornithologist-wild dog! 8)  I'm also fascinated by how much there is to detect when our other senses are utilised. Basically, because most humans live in a cacophony of noise that dulls all our senses (except, for some people, the one for spotting a money-making opportunity  ) we are pretty useless when we are out in the bush. However, some concentrated effort and intention reveals sounds, odours, and sights that are at first hidden, but very clearly there when we listen, smell, and see with more awareness! Thanks for sharing your passion with us, O-Dog!!

Rooies, those were wonderful books to read.
As a matter of fact I hated reading, cause life
at that age offered plenty else. One day I was
challenged and well.........????, my life changed!!

A young boy recently confronted me
with the question?.. "How do I learn
about different languages"?

What a pleasant question to hear!

A few years back my sister and I were staying at Pretoriuskop and after some car trouble got talking to our neighbors who helped me... After a while the man stopped and said to my sister: "You look more like a beachbaby and your sister looks like the bushbaby" That just stuck!
My sister was not impressed with being called a beachbaby!

Joao- For two reasons. I am the one of the magnificent seven who's tusks were never found. I also feel "Lost" sometimes. Secondly the name Joao in Afrikaans is Johan. My late brother's name.

My real name. Arnold. Meaning of my name "The eagle who soars high"
