I fondly remember the first meet we attended, a certain DB was up on a conference and we all got together at Dros in Midrand. Still remember walking in looking to find people we only knew by forum names. The start of many happy future meetings.
Date 24 May 2006 Venue. Dros Midrand, Present (the names I can still identify from the pics) Admin and SO Diannet DinkyBird WTM and SO Wild at Heart and SO Jacov and Reinette Freda Macho Mouse (this was the start of the change to Meandering Mouse) Peter Piper Davenjan There were a couple of others whose names I cannot remember. The next meet also at the Dros to meet Coc and Tok was significant to us as we met Kathy SA and SO Les. Les was my first boss in SA after comming from UK, and we had lost touch for about 15 years. |

Oh boy, thanks for all the memories. I'd completely forgotten about GP's favourite saying but it all came flooding back.
Anyone want to comment on why Macho Mouse became Meandering Mouse (sorry MM but I think the story(s) could do with another airing. |

Saraf, Macho Mouse became Meandering Mouse because of her tendancy to get lost... anywhere
Duco once remarked that there should be a cybercollar attached. The two most public forum moments were on a Angels trip to the Park, the angels being.. Jumbo, Freda, Jakelbessi and then, Macho Mouse. It was a fun first evening in Biyamiti. After an evening of delicious peri peri prawns, supplied by Jumbo, everyone went to bed., everyone, except MM that is. Macho Mouse went to watch the Biyamiti river late at night. A cloud came overhead, covering the moon. It was pitch dark. MM made her way to her bungalow, not wanting to wake her fellow travellers, she felt her way along the wall. She then gingerly placed her rear end onto the bed and started to lift the covers.. only she was met by a soft force and a gutteral sound.... she was climbing into bed with a strange man it was the right bed, but the wrong bungalow.. it was the start of a forum joke about MM's search fro Mr Fox I am looking for a pic, one that also relates to a historical forum experience.. then I will trell another tale of getting lost. |
