Is it just me, or can a B&W Conversion on some "ordinary" or even throw-away-photos change the dynamic of the photo completely...?

Anybody can squeeze a bit of orange or lemon juice into a pool of oil and come up with a great colour foto but a black and white foto is created in the darkroom. It is in the darkroom that one can play with light and create that fantastic foto.

I like your shots and agree with the comments in the replies.
The tip below by Andy Biggs has saved a number of my colour photos which were poor because of excess contrast e.g. midday light or leopard in the shade of a tree with with clouds as a background. I have now even started an extra portfolio for black & white photos on our photographic website. Of course the rescue attempt does not always work. A further great aid I am just getting to grips with is using the plug in for PS &/or LR "NIK Silver Effex Pro 2". The investment is worth it if you are keen on B&W. The company has weekly free online webinars. http://news.smugmug.com/2012/02/12/byoc-lighting-tips-and-a-kiboko-30l-backpack-giveaway-from-andy-biggs/ |

I really like black and white pics and love this one of a young leopard I saw near Punda last month.
