Hello

i have made various short trip's to Kruger during 2012 and have decided to post some photo's from the various trips.

Here are some butterfly photo's. i must say they are challenging to capture!

LindaS – glad you enjoying them. It was nice watching the buffalo play in the mud. Regarding the butterflies yes it took a long time to get these shoots and it was not in camp it was out on a drive so people stopped and when we told them what we were shooting they looked at us as if we were mad. Leeupan 100%.

Crested Val – How have you been and yes I remember that night well. We will be visiting KTP again in 8 weeks and cannot wait combining with trip to Etosha.

Hilda – thank you and the shoot with mist shows a different side to KNP that’s what made me take the shoot.

john n poppy – How have you been? You never know we make a visit but we have a 3 week trip to KTP / Etosha etc in September.

Since it is Sunday i thought i would get back to basics and give you some greyscale photos:

I want to thank you all for the nice comments.

Regarding the equipment and software below is my normal setup:

Sony A700 with Sigma 50-500mm
Sony A900 with Sony 70-400Gmm
When landscape i change to Sigma 10-20mm with spirit level attached to camera
If animal is fairly close i change lenses to Sony 70-200 2.8
Regarding macro i use a Sony 100mm macro lense with twin flash setup
I have various other flashes but only use for side lighting and rarely
In the morning and late afternoon i use UV filters and in the middle of the day circular pl filters
beanbags in the car and manfrotto trippod for shoots outside car
regarding software a use adobe photshop lightroom and framefun for the framing

i just received my new A77 to allow me to take HDR and video on the new trip in 4 weeks.
