:hmz: right and not right... it's also interesting to know the story around a picture...
when I (we) still developped pictures on paper, only 1/4 of my collegues would like to see only the photos and the rest asked for the story... like my familly too

I agree - and together they make a complete TR.

That will help, but the problem does not always lie with the author. More comments on TR's will help to sort out this problem too. Usually lots of views but only 5 % comment. Maybe just a  if you like it will help to turn turn the page or  for what ever reason.

Thanks, from a TDi (not turbo diesel, but technological disadvantaged individual) I was always wondering why some people who has got nothing to say continue doing so by posting ' :D  '

The photo count on pages is creeping up again, please be careful.

Techies have confirmed we still need to abide by the guidelines.

I have noticed that WendyA, Cheetah, Heksie and a few others space their reports out by replying to each post individualy. It probably takes a bit longer, but it does make for a very personalised trip report. If I am correct, it would also mean that they would have a record of the responses once the reports are cleaned up.

On my last page I was sure the last post with plenty pics will be on a new page, but it's not, still on the same page as 2 previous posts. Is there no way that the TR pages can be made shorter maybe. If you get a lot of replies that will help and to reply to each on individualy will help too, but what happens when they clean up the report, then it's just the posts with plenty photos.??

Unfortunately we don't have the technology to be able to size each forum differently.

A new page is started when the page has 15 posts, so you should be able to count how many there are to go.

Hi Saraf, thanx-a-million!

Now I know how it works.

But what happens when a trip report is cleaned up of all the replies?

Then we break the limit. But by then the TR is not being viewed constantly and the impact is reduced.

Just reading through this thread again and saw MM's comments. That is certainly the reason I reply to each post individually ... it does take longer and is a faff though. It makes you wonder whether people who read TRs realise that you are only supposed to post a certain number of photos per page ... Perhaps everyone should start their TR with a post that says "Guys, there is a limit of 10 photos - or whatever per page - if you want this TR to continue, please reply, even if you have nothing to say, give me a thumbs up or a smiley face to move on to the next page so I can continue!" I often have 100+ views on a TR but only a few comments and this really does delay things ... Surely though when people reply with smiley faces, animated emoticons or "quotes" containing photos, this also uses up readers' data?

you are so right WendyA

certain posts, I do open no more, because of the number of photos ... and big sizes

so much time needing to have a look
lot of pictures (often the same... or almost) :(
